Also, what kind of adoption agent refers to children as "damaged"? Awful.
Were they discussing adopting a child or a puppy? Between the woman describing the kids as "damaged" and Maci basically asking if they could send a kid back after the trial period... I was not impressed.
I understand Maci's concern though. She has 3 other kids, she can't just bring a random child home, there has to be a trial period of sorts, and she was trying to figure out how to phrase that.
No there doesn't!! Either you have the resources and responsibility to bring a child into your home or you don't. It should be social services' responsibility to ensure beforehand through thorough vetting that the child and the family are a good fit. That would be devastating to the child to be sent back into foster care if things didn't "work out," i.e. the new family doesn't want them because they're too much trouble. Hopefully some of their convo got edited and it wasn't really as bad as it seemed.
Settle down Margaret! It was a legitimate question. This was just a meeting to gather information. Wouldn't you rather she get told "No, once you adopt, the deal is done" and for her to say "Okay then we can't commit" than for her to take a kid, have them be more than she can handle, and for her to give them back?
