They told me it was not possible to change later because it is structural change in the house [/quote] It’s a gas fireplace…don’t see why it can’t be changed after moving in…the gas line is already there. We had a log burning fireplace changed to a gas insert fireplace in our previous home, so swapping one gas fireplace for another shouldn’t be a problem (though will require moderate labor to redo the wall).[/quote]
