You can always change it out…probably will be cheaper anyways. The 16k primo the models have can be purchased and installed for less than half the price after you close.
I really hope you are right. They told me it was not possible to change later because it is structural change in the house
It’s a gas fireplace…don’t see why it can’t be changed after moving in…the gas line is already there. We had a log burning fireplace changed to a gas insert fireplace in our previous home, so swapping one gas fireplace for another shouldn’t be a problem (though will require moderate labor to redo the wall).
I loathe the look of cosmo fireplaces so admittedly this isn’t a big issue for me, but we did upgrade the mantle and picked the marble-y surround. In the short-term I plan on painting the mantle navy one we move in and put a pretty fireplace screen (I actually bought it already, it’s a antique gold bamboo style) in front of the fireplace to dress it up a bit.
But yes, as others have said, because it’s gas, lots of options down the road.

In design studio they showed us the standard one and it is old style. We are so disappointed as we can no longer upgrade. Wondering if anyone else got the standard one, if so what are options to make it look a bit modern? maybe put the tiles behind as in the models homes? thanks
We took the standard fireplace and plan to remove the mantle and replace with white marble porcelain slab for a contemporary high end look.
So you will do that after closing or is toll adding the white marble porcelain?
