No issues here. The Nuns are going around bombing people and shooting up soccer stadiums. So I don't care what they wear
Neither are French beach goers wearing burkinis. But if you persecute enough of them, probably one of their kids will get angry at government oppression and do something very bad in response. Because to them it is tyranny, and any sane person would fight tyranny.
And there is your problem with Islam. Europe has a mostly Christian history anyways bad has been widely secular for a long time. Most countries where Islamists come from still live in the past by 500 years. They haven't progressed. Second, it's not tyranny. The Nuns aren't part of a religion that is bombing buses, shooting up soccer stadiums and mustering journalists
NP. It's tyranny because you have a gov't telling people what they can or cannot wear. If a person *really* wanted to hurt people at the beach, there's nothing to stop them from wearing a nun's habit and hiding a gun or bomb under there. These extremists are known to try to blend in with the public.
Not it's not. Do you have an issue when someone bans Baggie pants? If someone wanted to hurt someone in the beach - like Islamic terrorists did in Algeria a few years ago at a beach resort killing a dozen or more - they would do it. You're right, but the last time Catholics shot uo a bunch of people on the beach was ....oh that's right...never
Whether a catholic nun has ever bombed people is not the issue. The issue is about freedom to dress the way we want. If the issue is that they truly want to protect people in case someone tries to hide a bomb or gun under the burqa, then they should also ban the habit because a bomber could use a habit to accomplish the same thing. This shouldn't be about religion because in France, and is in the US, people have freedom of religion. Whether or not you like that religion is moot. People who are intent to hurt others is a different story, but not all Muslims are intent on hurting people. I'm sure you are aware of that fact. Yes, I have an issue when they ban baggy pants in a public place. As long as it is decent, ie, covering up your bits, I don't really care what people wear. The ban is like the opposite of the morality fashion police - not showing enough skin. It's stupid.
