Not my experience at all. My ped does not prescribe ADHD meds. We paid out of pocket for a non-network psychiatrist (because there was a months long wait for an appointment with an in network provider). The psychiatrist spent 90 minutes with us, talked with teachers and the pediatrician before deciding we should try medication. It was a thorough and expensive process. [/quote]
