I see the news reports about the two Oak Island attacks (and at least one expert speculated it could have been the same shark responsible for both attacks). What was the third NC attack? We'll be vacationing just a little north of that area in August. To be frank, I don't really love going in the ocean anyway, as I am (and have always been) irrationally afraid of sharks. I'll probably stay ankle deep with my toddler anyway, and save the swimming for the pool.
The shark pictures airing today show about 4 or so sharks in ankle deep water. It looks like wading in to the ankles is not safe. Google and see for yourself.
If a shark bites me on my ankles I will definitely live. It's being out in deep water where they can be at your body and/or drag you under that is dangerous.
they can drag you out even if you are in ankle deep water...especially if you are a kid. besides, you may live but no one wants to get bitten by a shark/possibly lose appendages/skin in the first place
