What is the point of giving a “young kid” finals experience at the age of 15 if they are not going to need it at the big boy meets? They are never making those meets if they are just breaking through for the first time here. If they are the exception, then they will get more relevant finals experience at meets like the KLI or Metros where finals feel like finals, not a session fast swimmers scratch allowing 70th place finishers to swim at night[/quote] Harsh, but no lies detected. I remember one year at LC champs the last place swimmer from prelims got a chance to swim at night because they were at the young end of the age group and that just seemed ridiculous. Having the 70th place finisher make finals is unnecessary and dilutes the meet. [/quote]
