Well ... you don't have to put your "name on a list for a Rolex." You can walk into Lenkersdorfer at the mall and come out with one. No one is going to tell you "it can take quite a while to get one." It isn't a teal crocodile Birkin or something. So yeah, either a joke or invented for some purpose other than laughs. [/quote]

True, you can walk into Lenkersdorfer an buy a watch.  We want to get a specific submariner for son's college graduation -- we purchased our watches Lenkersdorfer.  My husband was picking up his watch after getting it serviced and chatting with the rep.  For certain watches, there is approximately an 18 month backlog.  We ordered the watch -- it will take approx 12 months to arrive -- the store will call us and give us "first right of refusal"  when it arrives if we don't want it they will stock it in the display case.[/quote]
