More great microwave items: Minute rice Refried beans Oatmeal Baked potato Also for frozen convenience foods like nuggets, tenders or burritos, I usually cook 2 min in the microwave then crisp them a few mins in the air fryer and it is a good combo of fast but not mushy! Yes this all CAN be done without a microwave
You CAN cook minute rice in a microwave, but I would submit that's a lowpoint, not a highlight. Also, it's garbage to say nuggets tenders and burritos are better in the microwave. They're faster, but they're definitively not better. That's why manufacturers almost laways list conventional oven or convection oven as the ideal method. I mean, i had a friend growing up whose mother made "grilled cheese sandwiches" in the microwave. It's possible. You can make a hot sandwich wiht melted cheese in the middle but it ain't grilled cheese. He was horrified when he got to college and saw a real grilled cheese and realized his mother had been screwing him out of this awesome thing for his whole life.
