[/quote] If Lake Forest, try DePaul in IL Other IL schools could be relatively lower even out of state, but IL is further west in the Midwest region if kid doesn't want to be too far from VA. As forWest Coast schools, another one for Puget Sound - lovely area can't remember how much $ it is nowadays. Portland State U., Washington State, Univ of Idaho Moscow.
