[twitter]https://x.com/drprevost/status/1886469097560719594[/twitter] He is more conservative than Francis in some ways, but he’s very much against the current administration’s actions.
Now someone ask the new Pope his thoughts on transgender ideology and abortion. He likely agrees with Vance on those.
DP. I don’t get this rationale. He is a different religion and has the views of that religion. That’s not some sort of gotcha.
The point is that people are trying to say he is liberal and totally different from Vance, but he isn't. There is no gotcha but there is no great victory either. being on the side of the poor and immigrants is normal for a Pope so it's not surprising he doesn't agree with Vance and Trump on that. He is less liberal than Francis in terms of social issues.
This. To suggest he's more liberal than Vance and that he's 100% more moral than the 2 idiots of T and V is not saying much. We are talking about the antiChrist and his number 2. I mean seriously? That's a low bar for a comparison of morals. I'm going to suggest that 99% of the Cardinals would fit this description of being better people than T and V. However, if you strip down beliefs and policies, Francis was undoubtedly one of the most liberal Catholics and Popes in recent memory. I mean he chose the name of Francis, a saint. Leo is a pope's name. Not saying Leo was a bad pope but just saying, he's going to be somewhat conservative. He does not believe women have any rights to engage in the Vatican hierarchy which to me is very non-progressive. I can't get down with organized religion because at it's heart, I don't believe it's sincerely true to the acceptance that Christ stood for. I'm very spiritual and believe faith is extremely important. Francis was the first pope that turned me toward the Church. Leo will not be able to do that. He is 100% not as liberal as Francis - how conservative he will be remains to be seen. Just saying that it's not hard to be more liberal than T and V at all :)
