Final order was given 10 years ago and she has been evading ever since. [/quote] This is why birthright citizenship needs to end. This woman gave birth while she was already under final order to leave. Why are they citizens? The law needs to change due to abuse like this. Ten years!!!! [/quote] It is insanity. There is already talk about whether illegals get birthright citizenship anyway. The text reads, "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside." An argument could be made that illegal immigrants are subject to the jurisdiction of their home country and not the US, and therefore are not entitled to birthright citizenship. But either way it needs to be changed to make it clear that illegal immigrants will not have citizen children. It is too big of an incentive for them to come, and then use the children as an anchor to stay, as evidenced by all of these threads on the topic. [/quote]
