If large amounts of jobs are moved from an area it can also affect the housing market when people move. That will also impact schools. Local taxes will need to be raised. The medical research, claims processing, safety inspections, etc. that the fired feds did will slow down or stop and that will have an impact. The excitement you have about others being unemployed may fade when their unemployment impacts you. Be careful what you wish for. [/quote]
