In Hawaii (and perhaps on the West Coast now, its commonly used to refer to someone who is half White and half Asian. "Hapa haole" (half white) is the longer term used. "Haole" is the word locals in Hawaii use for White people. FWIW, I grew up in Hawaii and am part Native Hawaiian. [/quote]
