UVA wants the most rigorous course load for your high school.

I graduated from FCPS about a decade or so ago, went to UVA, and now have a Kindergartner in FCPS so I feel somewhat "qualified" to answer lol. I tried to take every AP course available to me, which included AP History (World, US, Gov), Science (Chem + Physics), Math (Calc), English  (Lang +Lit), and electives (Spanish + Psych). I do think AP US was the hardest course I took, and also the one that best prepared me for UVA.

At the time, all college admissions and counselors emphasized that rigorous course load was important, and from my personal experience it seemed to ring true when admissions season rolled around.[/quote]
