My husband is 5 9 and I never really thought about it. I’m only 5 3 so some one way taller seemed a little awkward. It wasn’t something that registered as inherently good to me for someone to be tall. But if I’m being totally honest on here, now that I have kids I really really hope my son is not shorter than my husband. I realize I was a little naive before.
If your DH thought the same as you he probably wouldn't have married you either since you're short. FWIW, I'm shorter than you, and my DH is 6'2", but I didn't pick him thinking about the imaginary kids we might have one day. It just happened that way. I have told DH that if we were both on a dating app, I would've filtered him out due to being too tall. Thankfully, neither of us had a dating profile. We met at work. He's dated short women before; both his LTR before me were with short women. I guess he just likes petite women. Our kids are above average in height, though.
