Our minds do instantaneous mental calculations of survival and oftentimes freeze is the response—-it’s a biological reaction. Unless you’ve been training self-defense regularly and practiced feeling and resisting that freeze response, you can’t say with certainty what you might do when surprised by an intruder with a gun in the middle of the night. Even if you HAVE trained for years to respond, you STILL might freeze.[/quote]
