There was an experiment done in NYC in the 70s. Kids were given uniforms and more of them turned up and more of them did well - it is uniform because it is an equalizer - its not to conform, it's to neutralize wealth and extravagance versus poverty. Everyone in the same clothes - they focus on the work at hand, the school work. [/quote]
