Isnt there a dress code against wearing pajamas to school? Ours specifically says no pajamas/pajama bottoms; public school. But I do realize that is very much open to interpretation.

Personally, even if allowed, I wouldn't let my child go to school in pjs. Sorry, but you need to get dressed daily.

I made the mistake of going to the Wildwood Starbucks during lunchtime this week. 98% of the girls from WJ were in there wearing pajama pants, slippers, and crop tops. Not a good look.

My kid is a PJ pant kid. I’m glad she’s in that group instead of the crop top group. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yep. Doesn't make me feel uppity, I actually feel sad for the kids.

Women too. I made a topic on this a couple of months ago this and was attacked for being too clueless about WFH and too judgmental. I am very aware of WFM but sorry, going out in public looking like a lazy slob with no shame is just sad.

This was a tend in the 90s, even in college, so not surprised it's coming back. It's a uniform the kids don't have to think about, and they don't look like they are soliciting on a streetcorner, so I'm fine with it.

When half of the kids are wearing the same thing it’s pretty much a uniform.

I thought your schools had dress codes? This is why public education is failing.

You think if all kids wore jeans and t shirts that would cure the problems with public education???? Hahaha if only.

It starts with the small things. Frankly, any semblance of order.

Do you have any actual evidence to suggest that wearing jeans means order and wearing pajamas does not, and that that order will improve the quality of public schools?

There are so many logical leaps here I just cannot.

There was an experiment done in NYC in the 70s. Kids were given uniforms and more of them turned up and more of them did well - it is uniform because it is an equalizer - its not to conform, it's to neutralize wealth and extravagance versus poverty. Everyone in the same clothes - they focus on the work at hand, the school work.
