We have put our house on the market and are moving to Montgomery County. We and many of my neighbors are getting out while selling prices remain strong and going to a true progressive state. At least their Republican gov is kept in check by the blue legislature. Excellent schools, the economy, progressive secular values, etc. are being replaced by hillbillies and their ridiculous “rights” funded by fascist republicans. Virginia is sunk. Get out while you can!
If yiu can’t afford a house in Virginia, that’s fine. No need to make up a story of why yo have to move to the cheap seats in MoCo. Just be aware that a lot of your higher taxes will be supporting hillbillies in Western Maryland
Hopefully the trashy western part of the state and the eastern shore (which is basically the same) will secede and form their own trash states, and be left behind by the far more successful central Maryland area, with progressive politics and polices.
That would be great. We have wanted to get rid of Baltimore and the trash they send here for years. Your progressive policies will continue to hamper Baltimore but it will still keep you at the top of the heap in homicides and crime. You can put them in prison in Chevy Chase and turn housing into section 8 ghettos for the baby mamas.
