Sometimes catching a murderer is down to someone close, like what happened in 2017 with Yingying Zhang at UIUC and the gf helped the FBI. That was the right thing to do.

I do not believe you are a good parent if you protect your child from the consequences of murdering innocent people. I'm quite liberal in general but definitely believe the death penalty has its place.

If my child did what I believe Laundrie did then I not only would feel I had failed as a parent but would consider it fair he suffer the consequences, whatever they be. What happened to Gabby Petito is unforgivable regardless of if the perpetrator is my child or not.

Obviously I do not have blind loyalty to my children/family and there is certainly a limit to what behavior I will tolerate.
