Bet I can guess your HHI/education level.
DP. I go with about $80K, high school diploma, maybe some additional courses.

+1
So mislead.

I'm very disappointed by a lot of responses to the OP's post.
Sometimes catching a murderer is down to someone close, like what happened in 2017 with Yingying Zhang at UIUC and the gf helped the FBI. That was the right thing to do.
I do not believe you are a good parent if you protect your child from the consequences of murdering innocent people. I'm quite liberal in general but definitely believe the death penalty has its place.
If my child did what I believe Laundrie did then I not only would feel I had failed as a parent but would consider it fair he suffer the consequences, whatever they be. What happened to Gabby Petito is unforgivable regardless of if the perpetrator is my child or not.
Obviously I do not have blind loyalty to my children/family and there is certainly a limit to what behavior I will tolerate.
So like if your kid was Dexter you’re all in? Can’t argue with that!!

Anonymous wrote:Since this is anonymous: my children & my spouse matter more to me than anyone else (hypothetical grandchildren and direct descendants would go here as well), followed by extended family and very close friends. I would do whatever I thought would make the situation turn out the best way possible for those people. Since I have multiple kids, I have to consider the futures of all of them, so I would help the hypothetical murderer as much as I could in line with the law while still making sure the family name is harmed as little as possible. I'd say I must've misheard the confession, hire the best possible lawyer, and urge cooperation with whatever the lawyer suggested.
