Love the post on APE about Duran's shift in attitude towards learning loss.. what a buffoon
APE is still a thing? Schools are opening! It’s just a b—tch session now?
Last summer at this time we were definitely opening in hybrid in the fall. We know how that turned out...
This sounds made up. Where/when did it say that hybrid was the go-to when school started. Where/when did APS make this promise? I'm genuinely not remembering it.
Here's the return to school update slide deck for 7/1/20: https://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/arlington/Board.nsf/files/BR4GD8434376/$file/E-1%20Return%20to%20School%20Update%20070120.pdf Two weeks later on 7/16/20 they announced an all-virtual start with a phased start of hybrid in October and November: https://go.boarddocs.com/vsba/arlington/Board.nsf/files/BRKNHX600E6E/$file/D-1%20Return%20to%20School%20Status%20Update.pdf That, of course, turned into full virtual until March.
Thank you. I’m a NP and so sick of all the APS apologists.
This is so funny to me! Y’all think there’s a conspiracy theory to keep the schools closed this fall? That this fall and last fall are the same at all? Really??
No—what bothers me is that APS bends to the will of select parents. APS was going to open hybrid until the Smart Restart group started. Two weeks later APS changed directions.
WTH are you talking about? SR started in late winter. I want to say I joined the group's FB page in January. APE was going strong all last fall, and still wasn't able to do anything.
It was actually OneAPS last summer, which happened to be many of the same people as Smart Restart.
You are misinformed. OneAPS was exactly one, maybe two people. They may have been part of the impetus for the SR group, but both groups were separate. Actually, I haven't seen the active OneAPS person in online spaces for a long time. She doesn't even comment in AEM anymore.
There are a lot more than 2 signatures on this petition https://www.change.org/p/arlington-va-public-schools-support-oneaps-a-return-to-school-rts-model-that-prioritizes-teachers-and-students?fbclid=IwAR27tGS0fiIY-vWSKNDZMfA3UV16WHsQwW4GT6g3G4ZcukMCYGDMkOCOHN8
I probably signed this petition. It just means that their initiative had a lot of supporters. Not that we were a part of the decision making process. I don't even know what you're whining about. OneAPS isn't a thing anymore. Hopefully SR and APE will go away too.
