I get why they didn't have Kate's character have the twin boys in the show - she wouldn't have been able to carry on with the PTA dad and the guy from work....society would have judged her and the target audience would have been turned off. Fine for a mom of a teen to do this but not a mom of 3 kids while 2 are still young. But, I agree that a mom of one teen girl wouldn't be so frazzled (laundry laundry laundry!) and would have probably gone back to work earlier.

I think they should have made Maura the daughter have a twin brother - that way he could be old enough to not screw up the plot - he'd be independent and like off at friends' houses and soccer etc. or something - but it would make more sense why Kate was constantly doing laundry, forgetting appointments, and hadn't gone back to work.

I like Katherine Heigl in this. I loved the plot twist about the sexual harasser taking over her show - that will be interesting. [/quote]
