Teachers can be vaccinated . Yay! 
My kids can’t. UNTIL THIS WEEK, it has been the case that above 200/100k and 10% PCR was not safe due to spread. Suddenly we can be 4x higher than the first and 5.5% elevated behind the second and it’s ok? No. Yet if I feel unsafe MY KIDS HAVE TO SWITCH CLASSES. That’s insane. I’m not confused; I am allowed to be annoyed by this bait and switch. [/quote]

Lady, you're just upset that things didn't go your way. If you knew back in November that the board would reopen schools, you would still have had to switch your child to a different classroom. You hoped they would keep the kids out til the metrics came down, but if you had been paying attention to the board meetings, the metrics were not adopted unanimously. And much of the opposition to reopening schools was based on the safety of teachers, which is now being alleviated by the vaccine.

The whole situation is fluid. The board is following new guidance from health and education departments at the state level.

My friends who have kids in private schools have all been fine all this time. They're also doing well from a mental health perspective and have been getting a better education. Their parents are also able to go to work.[/quote]
