Jen Hatmaker’s entire career is built around the idea of grace, love, forgiveness, etc.  Even if her initial impulse were to divorce over an affair, before she actually filed the papers cooler heads would prevail and she would try to work through it.  That she jumped so quickly to divorce suggests it was something truly unforgivable, even under a Christian ideal of forgiveness.[/quote]

Here’s the thing, it’s like becoming a parent or losing a parent, you have no idea what you will actually do or feel when it does happen to YOU.

All of that Christian BS and forgiveness went out the door when I was betrayed and found out about an affair 20 years into my marriage.  It was so devastating I couldn’t eat for over 1 month.  I didn’t have weight to lose and I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks and could not sleep AT ALL.  I wanted to kill both those @ssholes.  Fury and rage and fantasies of the OW in awful painful accidents and having her insides ravaged by a slow painful disease overtook me.

So much for the Christian principles at discovery.
