What are chances of transfer to HYP (kid really interested in Y or P after visits to high school so likely won't apply to H). At a top top SLAC now for first year (well at meaning at home). Any better coming from a top SLAC? I know usually it is 1%. But thinking with Class of 2024 deferrals, they will need more 2024s.
I think kid should focus on staying put and doing well. If you are top 1 percent at a top SLAC, there's no point in transferring. Heck, if medical/law/grad school are the end goal, it's probably better to be at a top SLAC and top 1% than to transfer, adjust, and most likely lose that top 1% standing at HYP.
Top 10% at HYP is preferable to top 1% top SLAC.
