Except that’s not what that was. It was white people showing up for black people and taking action at the request of black people. The protests have been organized that way.

Yeah, the white savior label seems to be a better fit for the evangelical types who think they need to go to parts of the world they consider "uncivilized" and convert them to Christianity. At the end of the day it is self-serving. I think a lot of white people genuinely want to do the right thing right now, and don't care if they receive attention or adulation from it. They are realizing that none of this changes if they don't get involved because they are the ones who have upheld it, not because they think they need to "save" black people.[/quote]
