The older I get the more I realize this. White collar careers are great too but our generation has really been steered in the wrong direction. There are many many blue collar jobs that pay incredibly well and many many white collar jobs that do not. Also many blue collars jobs translate well into a small business for those who are smart and ambitious. [/quote]

I so agree with this.  Young people are being told that a degree is all that matters and then when they finish that degree there is so much competition to try to get a job.  Meanwhile there are so many great paying jobs out there.

Anyway if OP is concerned about this, then the guy isn't right for her.  She will resent him for being blue collar.[/quote]
