These threads are so funny. Would love to know how much money you spend on specializing your kids at such an early age. And then how many quit because they get sick of all the practice. I bet FCV or Loudoun loses more kids to quitting because of people like Bobby P. or others. All of that time and money, for what, a partial soccer scholarship? LOL.
I think 2 players left FCV from last season. You think that is because of BP? Silliness! As kids get older the abilities change. Everyone knows this.
BP will be FCV’s downfall.
Is he a really tough coach? Did he have a playing career of any note?
He is a coach, not a buddy buddy type. He will joke around a bit, but not a lot. He wants hard work and fast play. His coaching style, to include his tone and volume of voice, reflects such. If you want a coach to give hugs and be buddy's, he is not for your kid. If you want a coach that WILL make your kid a better player, he is for you.
We do know there's is a way to train top level athletes without being buddy buddy or the personification of horse waste? Right, like, we're adults (I think), we know of this correct?
I think most should, however, parents like to be a bulldozer for their kid moving any obstacles out of the kids way. Over parenting / helicopter parenting whatever you want to call it, parents are creating an entitled kids that don't take to coaching like kids 10-20 years ago. As a coach or player, each should EXPECT your best day in and day out at the highest level. I think BP does that. Not ever player does that and he tells them. If that is being mean, well, work harder and he won't tell you that!
