Mom wanted to go for an entire week but I stood my ground and said I only have enough leave for a weekend trip.

It’s like playing chess! Can anyone help? I can’t take my sedative and drive...

Sounds like my Mom.  I finally just quit trying to make things go more smoothly, since my efforts made a difference.  Just absolve yourself of feeling guilt, whether you accommodate her or say no.  And look hard for things that are amusing or when she is on good behavior.[/quote]
