https://www.nwfdailynews.com/news/20180714/comparing-trump-to-hitler-is-disgrace "No matter how much you may dislike or disagree with Trump, the warped practice of casually comparing him and other U.S. officials to the ruthless, merciless ghouls who executed 6 million souls and tortured and persecuted countless more simply for being Jewish or something else they despised is a disgrace and demonstrates massive, willful historical ignorance."
I know it’s very difficult for a lot of Trump supporters on here to try to think outside the box and consider some of the posts comparing trump to Hitler. However, please try and do so. Consider trumps nationalist rhetoric and how similar it was to Hitler’s rhetoric while he was consolidating power in Germany. Consider trumps repeated denigration of Mexicans. Consider how he panders to a radical, and yes, racist part of his base as evidenced by saying “there are very fine people on both sides.” I’m specifically said that because he knows his supporters who like Confederate statues and yes some of them are white nationalists, would appreciate that type of message. That message wasn’t just in support of people who want to keep their southern heritage alive by keeping the statues in place, but it was also a shout out, a dog whistle to people who hold these racial notions of white purity and things of that nature. Trump specifically said that because he knows his supporters who like Confederate statues and yes some of them are white nationalists, would appreciate that type of message. That message wasn’t just in support of people who want to keep their southern heritage alive by keeping the statues in place, but it was also a shout out, a dog whistle to people who hold these racial notions of white purity and things of that nature. Stop trying to tell us that we can’t make comparisons to Hitler. The comparisons are there. The demographics of this country are shifting and a lot of older white people are scared of that. The browning of America is very alarming to a lot of people. Additionally a lot of people don’t like change, whether it’s automation taking their jobs, or solar wind or other technology overtaking Cole, trump panders to these people but does so in a way that is very similar to Hitler. He holds the same types of rallies to rile people up. He only focuses on his supporters he is not a uniter. He’s a divider just like Hitler. Can you see that?
• President Donald Trump told reporters: "We are closely following the terrible events unfolding in Charlottesville, Virginia. We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides. It has been going on for a long time in our country -- not Donald Trump, not Barack Obama. It has been going on for a long, long time. It has no place in America." This is what was actually said. People need to push the narrative he's xenophobic in order to advance their own. Look on any social media site for Trump supporters of every color, religion, sexual and gender preference under the sun. I am pro-choice and those people have been praying outside clinics on public property since I can remember. Just like that guy who stood outside the Vatican Embassy and peacefully protested for years. What concerns me is people's ability to suspend their own eyes and ears to help push a fake narrative. For goodness sake, John Podesta said to use the Nazi narrative in his e-mails that were hacked. We know it is a just another political ploy to make people fear their government because you lost an election when your candidate couldn't get herself to a few states.
That’s some top shelf historical revisionism there. What actually happened is Trump waffled back and forth over the course of a week on the issue. He had to gauge how his supporters would feel if he actually condemned these confederate supporting white supremacists. He literally vacillated back and forth on the entire situation. He did not show a determined and force for condemnation of the actions at the time they happened. He said there are very fine people on both sides. He was trying to play both sides of the equation because he knew he couldn’t alienate his supporters. The Republican Party has become the party of Trump. And that party strongly associated with xenophobia and fear of others. Sadly it also comprises a large portion of ignorant folks who miss the great days is when the south and and everything that goes along with that was in power. I know it’s very hard for you people supporting Trump to look inwardly at yourselves and what the party supports but it’s very very alarming. It’s so fear-based.
You mean he clarified his statement within 48 hours. Gimme a minute...I'll find the reports scrum notes.
