Vanity sizing is not helping the obesity epidemic. A 200 lb woman thinking she is a size 6 is ridiculous.
Can you please explain to me why this is ridiculous? I know my body. What makes you think you’re an expert on MY body?
I'm sorry, I hope that you don't feel as if I was attacking you personally. With all sincerity, I'm quite positive that you are lovely both inside and out. The obesity epidemic affects everyone in society on many different levels. Sizing that sends people the message that they are in a healthy weight range just to sell clothes is problematic. A size 8 today is a size 18 from the 1950s (sizes went up again last year). The reason people have a hard time believing that size 6 is not the correct size for you is that, roughly, each clothing size covers a 10-15 lb range. Based on the comments here, most 6s seem to fall between 130 and 145. Of course, you could be an extreme outlier.
There is no way a 6 would be 205 lbs even with vanity sizing unless her bones and muscles were made of lead and she was a robot/not human.
