This thread is amusing because you have all the poor drivers stomping their feet and frothing at the mouth because THEY HAVE TO WAIT A FEW MINUTES FOR A SAFE DRIVER TO BACK IN!!!!!!!!! while ignoring the many many many posts -- with links, so receipts have been provided -- that say backing in is safer. Basically the former just want it THEIR way because reasons, meanwhile the back in people seem to actually care about people, including the stupid ones in here flailing their arms about over waiting a few minutes to park incorrectly.
I don't buy the whole backing in is safer thing. I see people walking through parking spaces all the time. So people backing in still need to worry about that, And what about the safety to other vehicles? I'm sure people who back into spaces ding more cars than those who pull in.
It's far safer for you and I both if I'm pulling out of a space, and I can SEE people like you coming, driving 35 mph through the parking lot lanes. If I'm backing out, I won't see you until you're almost upon me, and knowing your type, you'll run into me and cause a crash, seeking a settlement. Pulling OUT of a space negates the opportunity for bad / angry drivers (like you, in case that wasn't already made clear) to crash into me. Sorry, not sorry.
