It bothers me not one bit because I know that the only causation indicator of accreditation is parent socio-economic status. I also know that things like accreditation only came about via G.W. Bush and NCLB and the push towards privatization and charter schools. JH will get accredited when the demographics of the school change, plain and simple - and it will happen overnight.
JH is accredited.
Nope. It’s only “conditionally “ accredited, and only because Virginia just weakened the accreditation standards in September. It was in the bottom two percent of the state and is now in the bottom seven percent. It flunked standards for math at all grade levels and has what Virginia calls a “level 2” English deficiency and a “level 3” math deficiency. It was also found to be “level 3” failing for all students with disabilities. It was found to have both “level 2” and “level 3” deficiencies for non-white and for students from low-income homes. The passing level in zen flush represents a flunk rate of 24% — one more % and JH would have flunked. And amazingly their percentage passing math fell by ten percent in just one year. Sorry PP. It’s not “accredited” — it’s conditionally accredited due to a relaxation of standards, with multiple repeated failures, and year-over-year continually worsening performance.
