It is crazy really that some people think it is okay for the grandmother to give the child a nickname different than what the parents call her (other than an endearment like “lovebug” or something to that affect :-) ). My father frequently tries to create a nickname for my son (picture my son being named Michael which is what everyone calls him, and grandpa calls him Mikey). THat bugs me and this would, too. I’d tell MIL to return the chair. [/quote]
