I don't live in Great Falls, but I think it's beautiful and can completely understand why people select it for their homes. It is so different than all of the other communities around here- beautiful rolling hills, elegant country homes, quiet and spacious. I go to the park on weekends and it's so peaceful driving through Great Falls. Not all people want to be close to the city because a very large percentage of people work outside of the city.
That one poster is really odd-10 bedroom houses??? GF is near Reston and some kids in Reston go to school in GF's. Some kids in GF's go to school in Vienna. Some of GF's you really don't know if you're in Mclean or Herndon. Yes there's the 1 safeway but many people live closer to Reston and Herndon etc and the Giants, Harris Teeter etc. So there's Giants, Safeway, Whole foods, harristeeter, trader joe's.
This. Personally, while my address is officially a Great Falls address I feel a lot more like a resident of Reston than a resident of Great Falls. The Reston Town Center and the Great Falls village are more less equidistant from my house. That means that a lot of grocery stores in Reston, such as Giant, Harris Teeter, and Trader Joe's are closer to me than the Great Falls Safeway. I commute on metro using the Reston station, I usually eat out in Reston and not Great Falls, and in general I frequent Reston's businesses a lot more than Great Falls'. So Reston feels a lot more like home to me. All this without having to deal with Reston's HOA, and well, my house is zoned for Langley, which some people will see as a good thing and some as a bad thing.
