Some Brits married into Danish families in the West Indies (now US Virgin Islands), which I allowed them to continue to capitlaize on free labour in the production of sugar. A lot of upper-class families in England owned sugar plantations in the West Indies. Check out the people associated with Jane Austen. [/quote]
