The leadership, the board, and the egotistical male coaches who demean girls and young women should all take a hike. A common theme on any Bethesda post is people defending toxic behavior saying it's just "tough." I'm not sure when tough became synonymous with abusive and it's always sad when I see defensive posts claiming that horrifying anecdotes are just evidence of toughness. A coach can be demanding and difficult, operating at high standards, without obliterating a child's self-esteem and dropping f-bombs on them when they are as young as 11. Hopefully more parents can realize that those things don't have to coexist.[/quote]
