They seem to change this year to year. U13 i think is the current cutoff unless they change yet again.
The U13 girls for next year coaching slate has the third team as pre-ecnl still
Next year has a u19 pre ecnl team too.
So girls side [older than u8 which is just a pool]
Ecnl 1
EcnlR [for actual.ecnl.ages]/ ECNL2
Pre-Ecnl
Blue [only a couple age groups have a fourth team. Most for next year are three or less.]
Should be "post ECNL." Bugs the heck out of me that the old boys at BSC have driven out the majority of their female coaches. Not that they were all rays of sunshine when they had more, but I hate the "your success as a player relies on earning favor with a mean guy" thing that BSC has going.
Far from unique to BSC but for 24/25 they have zero female ECNL coaches and one female RL coach. Which I believe is the same as this year.
Even at the younger ages they don’t have a female coaching a 1 team next year and only one female has a 2 team. The u10-12 ages combined have a single female coach (who has two 2 teams). That covers 14 teams and hundreds of girls ages 9-12.
Two other female coaches have the bottom u9 teams.
Again this is a much broader problem with girls soccer but the numbers are startling when you break it down at BSC.
I know Arlington is light years ahead in this regard and deserves kudos. Many female coaches including ECNL.

One can dream. The leadership, the board, and the egotistical male coaches who demean girls and young women should all take a hike. A common theme on any Bethesda post is people defending toxic behavior saying it's just "tough." I'm not sure when tough became synonymous with abusive and it's always sad when I see defensive posts claiming that horrifying anecdotes are just evidence of toughness. A coach can be demanding and difficult, operating at high standards, without obliterating a child's self-esteem and dropping f-bombs on them when they are as young as 11. Hopefully more parents can realize that those things don't have to coexist.
It’s very interesting: if a fully grown adult male yells at a young female in public (sidewalks, shopping mall, etc.), people would immediately intervene and call the police. But if this happens on a Bethesda soccer field, people, including moms, would just completely ignore it.
