Y’all know what a big deal it is for a teen to get their license? But Jen makes it all about her. And her enmeshed codependent favorite kid Ben, bless his soul.

Years ago, maybe 9 years,  my friends threw me a birthday party. I had had a very stressful year.  It was a relaxing girl time party. Jen graced us with her presence. Almost immediately, she says “I know this is your birthday, but I’ve had a hard week so today is about ME.” 
Swear to God. 
My birthday party. 
She said that OUT LOUD. 
To ME. The BIRTHDAY GIRL. 
Poor poor Remy.

What’s worse than being a teenager with divorce trauma on top of adoption trauma?  
Being a teenager with divorce trauma on top of adoption trauma when your mom is a narcissist.
