Jen obviously reads this forum. Latest post is all about taking the suddenly wonderful Remy on a staycation. She just loves spending time with her! So she had her bring a friend. And let them run around austin during SXSW on st Patrick’s day, ie, surrounded by wasted out of towners. Meanwhile she stayed at the hotel reading a book and drinking wine. So so much bonding. But she’s not ignoring her. She’s just really good at letting Remy spread her wings. How do you let your baby birds learn to fly, Fellow Amazing Mommas?

No. Jen is late stage Capitalism at it's worst. The fake and phony grasping and cloying predatory monetization of desperate and hurting women while at the same time putting on the veneer of virtue and goodness. The sooner her and her ilk disappear from the public the better the world will be. Her business model is pure exploitation.

I think it's a pretty sad life when you have nothing better to do than sit around and hate on Jen Hatmaker all day. (And no, this isn't Tyler!) I used to be a huge fan and even paid to see her on stage a couple of years ago. Not so much a fan anymore but you people are taking it to a whole new level. Suggesting her kids need therapy? Who amongst us haven't dissed our teenagers? Maybe half of it is tongue-in-cheek and maybe she's cleared her posts with Ben and Remy? For the love of God, go find a real cause to be passionate about!!

She didn’t turn into one. She has always been that way.

I have a theory. I wonder if her ex-husband provided some checks and balances and would reign her in the narcissism and cruelty were too much in person or on social media. Maybe he even defended R. Now Jen is just surrounded by sycophants so she is free to be herself and we see just how bad it can be. My mother had all the underpinnings, but once my dad passed away (not sure how they stayed married) and she distanced from frriends who did anything but feed her ego my mom became a full-fledged walking, talking personality disorder and she was awful enough to me I think my dad must be rolling in his grave.

Preach. I just hope those kids end up getting the help they'll need after this.

Thanks for this. I think this is a good way to keep all her 'stuff' in perspective. She will never be truly called out or called in by her 'fans.' I hate how she has monetized and used her children's struggles for engagement and self-aggrandizement. But, in the end, some of us have seen through her facade, but many more never will. It is what it is.

Over the past few years it seems like Jen is increasingly about shilling products way more than she used to. Wine, lipstick, clothes, all the things. I guess as she’s not really doing speaking tours anymore and doesn’t have a tv show and only is putting out a cookbook I guess she needs to find other ways of making money. There’s definitely a bit of desperation in it.

Now, she’s like all those former bloggers - mom of kids moving out of the house so she’s struggling to be relevant. Nothing special - just a mom that likes the sound of her own voice but her captive audience is leaving one by one. I heard this on the Kelly Corrigan podcast just now and would have done a coffee spit take if I had been listening a few hours earlier in the day. By the way, to add a heaping dose of irony to this episode, she and Kelly are weighing in on FRIENDSHIP. So far, I've heard all about what Jen's friends have done for her, so generally it's just more of the same.ol Jen.

(Also, weird sidenote- she talks about how her friendships were forged in the fires of early childhood rearing. Specifically, "those kind of days" where you have nothing in the fridge and you ask to bathe your kid at a friend's house (?!?!). I've raised multiple kids and.......this did not resonate with me. A super strange glimpse into the days of stay at home mom Jen.....

Taking Ben to dinner to celebrate Remy getting her license because it means they won’t have suffer spending time with her anymore.

Driving kids all over is annoying at times but the best talks I have with my kids are when we’re alone in the car. Sometimes the only talks because teenagers are hardly ever home. They open up way more in the car.

In the same post she talks about how time flies by and then your kid leaves for college and how she will die when he leaves, she gripes about having to spend time with Remy, who leaves in 2 years. The cognitive dissonance is astounding.

Y’all know what a big deal it is for a teen to get their license? But Jen makes it all about her. And her enmeshed codependent favorite kid Ben, bless his soul.

Years ago, maybe 9 years, my friends threw me a birthday party. I had had a very stressful year. It was a relaxing girl time party. Jen graced us with her presence. Almost immediately, she says “I know this is your birthday, but I’ve had a hard week so today is about ME.”
Swear to God.
