I sort of agree with you, that a non-professional could give him reasonably effective counseling.  But nobody said to him, from a counselor, "Josh, this was wrong; it was harmful; don't do it again."  While the methods of dealing with these problems by the ATI have been previously posted, it's not clear that Josh received any of these.  In the police report, Michelle corrected herself and said that he did manual labor instead of counseling.  He didn't get any counseling at all, not religious or professional.  [/quote]
