She deserved a hotel room while Brian should have had the option to just take the van.

Even then w/out the knowledge we have now.

Anyone speaking to them could see that she was continuously crying while he was chatting cheerfully w/the cops.
It was apparent that she was scared while to him, none of what was happening was even a big deal.

We have been over this SO. MANY. TIMES.  She admitted to slapping/scratching him, so technically she was the abuser in the situation. They're not legally allowed to put the abuser up in a hotel room. According to the body cam footage, they had to be separated bc the police were opting to give her a citation instead of arresting her.  One of them had to stay elsewhere, since they were living together in the van. Laundrie said they had no money for a hotel. The police referenced an agency called "CK," which apparently puts up victims of domestic violence or pays for their hotel rooms. They didn't call it in for her bc they had determined that she was the abuser/aggressor in the situation, based on his statements, her statements, and witness statements. In hindsight, she may have been better off had they arrested her. [/quote]
