It’s not about chasing a badge — it’s about finding the right fit where your player can truly shine. ECNL options are shrinking in the area, and while the timing for GA might not have felt perfect before, with the way things are unfolding at FVU, it might be time to reevaluate.
Agree. There is enough talent in GA at this age group (not at the level of ECNL fairly) and enough exposure to make GA a viable option. Question is, where are girls willing to go? Teams seem pretty even. If you live in Loudoun is it worth it to drive to SYC (currently in 5th) rather than staying close to home at NVA (currently in 6th)? If you live in Alexandria are you driving out to VRSC?
not sure. I don’t think GA will have enough time to be a viable exposure landscape for the commitment and sacrifice. But depending on the performance of 2 out of the three clubs (not fvu) in the MA ECNL it may become defacto king in the area at this age group. GA teams are also having s hard go south of the dmv. I guess you would need to compare your showcase events and locations and team performance. Which should be pretty new YOY. From the sounds of it you are an FVU parent. Between the ID debacle and your lack of exposure this year (yes we see you guys are ducking KC in December. Why? That is odd because even the hammerheads are going to be there. Your team should be there imo vs a wags). As far as SYC i hear good things. As far as NVA Talk to your teammate parents and/or some of the parents who went over there with RP from FVU. NVA is not for everyone but there are some intangibles and positives you will see in regards to playing styles. Good luck. Im sure next march/may will be just as confusing.
