But couldn’t beat STAB…
STAB beat GC today?
Yes! GC LOST to STAB
This is one of the year's biggest upsets. Is there a site listing all Saturday's scores?
Although I am unsure where to find the results, the results mentioned here are certainly interesting. There may be a connection worth examining between the duration of breaks between games (refer to the list below) and their impact on performance. Good Counsel was the only team with a two-game break between games, yet they delivered what could be considered the day's worst result. While I initially thought a two-game break would be ideal, perhaps it actually allowed too much time to cool down, making it harder for players to warm back up after the stiffness set in. Back-to-back is definitely not optimal, so the one-game break may have been the sweet spot. Back-to-back games: Stone Ridge Visitation NCS One-game break between games: SSSAS Paul VI Loyola Norfolk Academy Collegiate STAB Two-game break between games: Good Counsel
People are over analyzing GC's loss way too much. They played lousy and STAB is a very good team that plays one of the best schedules in the country. STAB defense and goalies were great and, as someone posted earlier, the coaching is excellent. Combine all of that and it's not surprising they won the game. Tip of hat to them. Life will go on for Falcons.
Why GC "played lousy" is worthy of analysis. Taking nothing away from STAB, but GC is a much better team that should win 9 out 10 times under normal circumstances.
