You are all delusional if you think the reason your “DD” didn’t get recruited to play field hockey by a top D-1 program is because your club submarined you. Or gave preferential “recruiting” treatment to other players on the team. That’s not how it works. Your child must perform. They must stand out. They must be the best. They must train hard, attend camps, attend ID clinics, play club and high school (year round), get noticed at Nexus, get noticed at Line-Up, etc. If your child is good enough, college coaches will notice. If they are a star, it won’t matter what club they’re on. You people are all placing blame when the bottom line, it sounds like, is that your “DD” simply isn’t good enough. Stop deflecting and get a reality check.
^this is 100% correct. However, in my personal opinion, you could be one of the best players on the club team but still not be a favorite and your playing time will suffer. It’s tough to shine when your not on the field and a favored player 2-3 years younger is showcased. Seen this first hand. On the opposite side of the argument, over the years Hustle has had many favorites leave because of the weird dynamic. Some players were allowed to play up, some were not and left the club. Last thing, not every kid wants to play D1. And it’s getting tougher to get commited at the D3 level.
