These two incidents are not at all equivalent. First of all, it started as an altercation and happened at 3 in the morning. Someone videoed it, instead of stepping in, likely because of moral turpitude or fear of being beat up him/herself. I doubt they were thinking, "wow, this is jut like that marine who killed a loud dude. I better not intervene."[/quote]

Taking video is what I would do. I'm a woman and there's no way I could restrain a violent adult. Getting some video evidence with the perp's face is the only way I could help.[/quote]

If you're a bystander, it's the right thing to do. Ideally, someone calls 911 and someone else records video. You've got to be organized in these situations, but of course, it's really hard to react sanely in the moment.[/quote]
