It’s funny how shortsighted people are. I suppose when the cats away, the mice will play. I went to Chantilly, and I can promise you we never once worried about Mclean. Chantilly is superior to Mclean in every single way as a lacrosse program. Mclean has been better the last couple years, but when put to scale, which lacrosse team is really the insignificant one? Same with Oakton. Can also tell you in my time Westfield was miles better than any Mclean team I can remember. South Lakes wasn’t in the Concorde then, but they deserve respect too.
I don't think many here are focusing on which schools have had the best records over an extended period. The thread is about the 2024 season.
It's interesting if Chantilly was once better than McLean at lacrosse, but it's kind of like saying Annandale used to be better at football than Madison.

These teams would be more significant if Madison, Robinson, and Langley weren't poaching players from their ranks under the guise of AP or IB programs.
Hmm, this seems like wishful thinking. Westfield, Chantilly and Oakton are all AP schools, as are Madison and Langley, so they couldn't poach from each other under any guise. That leaves South Lakes as the lone IB school. Are you suggesting both Madison and Langley are better at lacrosse because they are both poaching from South Lakes?
Some days the discussion goes so sideways it makes me scratch my head. Neither Madison or Langley has accomplished enough this year, so far, that conspiracy theories are needed to explain their success. I know for a fact that one of their rosters has no players from South Lakes, and I would be willing to be the other doesn't either. Both Madison and Langley lose talented players within their boundaries to private schools in every class, and whatever recruiting they do is aimed at convincing players within their own district to stay public, not recruiting players from other school districts.
Madison has recruited Marshall kids for years. The kids say they are pupil placing for AP but it's mostly to play sports. Used to be for just about all sports although Marshall got better at basketball with Dan Hale and Jerry Lin coaching.

1. Robinson has good coaching
2. Robinson has ~2500 kids in the high school. There are ~3700 in the school but the school is 7-12. The high school is smaller in population than Alexandria, Lake Braddock, Chantilly, West Potomac, Westfield, and Oakton. It is about the same size as Centreville, West Springfield, South Lakes, Battlefield, W-L, Yorktown, Woodson, and McLean.
3. Robinson has never poached a player.
