To me that is just theater. I'm on a working group with a student rep and they never speak.

Maybe not theater, but the arrangement would benefit the student (and their college application) more than it would benefit the school board. They can offer some insight, but it would be a better practice for school boards to speak more with informed communities on specific issues. Sure they "listen" to a lot of community members, but they aren't proactive. [/quote]
